At the Somerset Champions Council, impact is the heart of our mission. Each initiative reflects our commitment to civic pride, collaboration, and positive lasting change. Each of our projects reflects how together, we’re building a brighter future for Somerset.
Adopt a Pot
Each Spring, the Somerset Champions Council launches its Adopt‑a‑Pot program to brighten our village with plants and flowers. Community members, families, and local businesses are invited to “adopt” decorative pots placed throughout Somerset.
Hometown Hero Banners
We partner with the Somerset American Legion on our Hometown Hero Banner project that honors local veterans and service members through personalized banners displayed throughout the community. These banners foster community pride, recognize service and sacrifice, and inspire civic engagement.
Larry Forrest Memorial
Larry Forrest Park was made possible by Tom and Anne Forrest in memory of their son, Larry. In late summer 2025, a memorial bench was added to honor the Forrest's selfless gift, ensuring their generosity and Larry’s memory remain a lasting part of our community.
Community
Ice Skating Rink
The Somerset community skating rink in Village Park is created and maintained by community volunteers with support from the Village of Somerset. The rink offers families and neighbors a fun, seasonal space to gather and enjoy winter recreation.
